It was developed and published by Capcom. The first home console release of the game was on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES).
Final Fight has been re-released on several different platforms over the years, including Virtual Console, Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and iOS.
The SNES version of Final Fight was one of three games bundled with the North American launch of the system in August 1991. In Japan, it was released as an exclusive title for the Family Computer (Famicom).

Final Fight, Super Famicom (Japanese Super NES Import) [Nintendo Super NES] is an import game for the Japanese market. It is based on the popular arcade game of the same name. The player takes control of one of three characters; Guy, Cody, or Haggar, through six stages set in and around Metro City. The object of the game is to rescue Haggar's daughter, Jessica, from the clutches of a gang known as Mad Gear.
The game was released in Japan on December 6, 1991.
